UPDATED!
This year our Texas Summer Reading program is the Texas Jubilee- Read Across Texas. SO- that means yours truly is up to her ears in Texas/Desert/Western/Cowboy themed artwork.
Our main wall has critters dancing and playing music and when each child comes in to register for the reading program, they will get to put their name on a star and put it on the wall scene. We aren't totally done with it yet- but I did the critters with pastels and I took a few pics with my cellphone just until it's totally done, then I will take better photos with my camera.
My favorite critter is the little Raccoon. I laughed because his purple vest and yellow trim make him look like a little Crown Royal racconie! LOL

Here is a shot of the cow - she is dancing with what else but a Texas longhorn. Photo later.

[link]Cow skull. I think I did an okay job on it.

The groom plucks a key
From the rapture tree
And opens her ribcage like a squealing armoire
Her lungs and liver screaming "Mercy mercy mercy!"
While he rearranges the wires of her heart
I now pronounce you smiling like a grave...
